Somos Los Carmona is a Chilean telenovela originally broadcast on TVN.
The story centers on a rural family living in a village to the south, away from civilization. When the government expropriates their land and pays them a lot of money, they move to Santiago. In his new home in La Dehesa, the family headed by Rosa (Carolina Arregui) and Facundo (Álvaro Rudolphy) collide with their neighbors, the Velascos: Roberto (Fernando Larraín), Isabel (Ingrid Cruz), Felipe (Ignacio Susperreguy) and Rocio (Valentina Carvajal).
In the city, the Carmonas encounter "problems and [make] discoveries." "With regard to their marriage, the new ways [of the city] begins to drive a wedge between them. She never wanted to come, while he had other motives, namely revenge." The Velascos are in financial trouble and are trying to scam them in order to take everything from them. They were about to lose everything and were coming apart as a family. In fact, Roberto requests that his wife "seduce the country bumpkin because he wants to scam him into investing in his construction company".
The one who had the greatest problem adjusting is the eldest daughter, Carmen (Magdalena Müller), who goes to college, and he meets Francisca (Maria de los Angeles Garcia) a bad girl, who with her two minions would torment her. The middle daughter, Susan, (Agustina Lavin) has a pet pig whom she dresses and calls "Margarito". The younger son, who always attended a rural school, enters more advanced classes and "they realize that he is gifted".
The worst part is that "became more hardened, consumerist and begin to deceive one another". On the other hand, "the goodness that they bring back from the countryside begins to rub off on the Santiaguinos".
