Skardu Airport (IATA: KDU, ICAO: OPSD) is a domestic civil airport and military airbase located in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is connected with Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, and Gilgit, the provincial capital of Gilgit-Baltistan, through regular Pakistan International Airlines flights. It also serves as a Forward Operating Base of the Pakistan Air Force.
There are three lakes in the vicinity: Upper Kachura Lake, Lower Kachura lake and Sadpara Lake. Skardu, along with Gilgit, are the major tourism, trekking and expedition hubs in Gilgit-Baltistan and it therefore attracts the tourists of concerned background from around the world. Due to extreme weather and mountainous terrain the means for getting around are limited. Hotels are available in the city to cater for the significant tourist activity. The Airport operates from Dawn to Dusk. Skardu Airport has two asphalt runways, one 8,740 ft. (2,664 m) long and the other 11,944 ft. (3,641 m) long.
