Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda is an upcoming American comedy-drama film directed by Greg Berlanti based on the novel of the same name by Becky Albertalli. The film stars Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford, Miles Heizer, Logan Miller, Alexandra Shipp, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel. Robinson stars as Simon, a 17-year-old who comes out as gay in uncertain circumstances having consequences for everyone around him.
Simon Spier is a seventeen-year-old closeted gay teen trying to work out who he is, and what he's looking for. But when one of his emails to Blue, his secret e-mail pen pal, falls into the wrong hands, things get all kinds of complicated.
On October 29, 2015 it was announced that Fox 2000 acquired the rights to make an adaptation of the novel. On September 6, 2016 Greg Berlanti was hired as director.
In December 2016, Nick Robinson was in talks to star in the movie for the titled role.Jennifer Garner joined the movie in February 2017.
Principal photography began on March 6, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.Jennifer Garner was spotted shooting her scenes on March 21, 2017. Filming officially ended on April 23, 2017.
The movie is scheduled to be released on March 16, 2018.
