Silokhra is a village located in the district of Gurgaon in the state of Haryana, India. It has a population of about 7715 persons living in around 1831 households. Silokhra village is dominated by the Brahman community, who are its original inhabitants. Now, the majority of the residents are Yadav.
Silokhra is near the HUDA City Metro Station. The village comes under ward number 29 Municipal Corporation Gurgaon (MCG). Total area of the village is 28 acre out of which 21 acre belongs to Brahmans Family which is built up as commercial and residential area popularly known as hitech village. It lies near sector 30 on main National Highway 8 of Gurgaon.
India's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's yoga teacher and favorite godman Dhirendra Brahmachari who died in 1994 in a plane crash built an ashram, yoga centre, a one km long airstrip and hanger and Indira use to visit here once a week. The hanger still has two ruined aircraft belonging to the Brahmachari, likely including a Maule M-5 American aircraft.
Majority of village land was purchased by Unitech Group for a 300-acre prestigious residential township of apartments, plots & private villas. Important landmarks like Signature Towers, Shikshantar School, The World Spa, Uniworld City and The Palms are all part of this bustling township.
Sector 29 which was earlier a part of Silokhera village and later was acquired by HUDA is the center of attraction for tourist as Kingdom of Dreams which is India's first live entertainment, theatre, Appu Ghar by Oysters which is one of the most popular water park and 125 cafes and restaurants are situated in it.
