The Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG) is the largest cement company in Thailand and Southeast Asia. In 2015, it was also ranked as the fourth largest company in Thailand and the 641st largest company in the world by Forbes 2000. The company is controlled by the Crown Property Bureau, which owns 30 percent of Siam Cement's shares.
SCG was founded by royal decree of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) in 1913. Since then, the company has expanded into various businesses with three core business units: SCG Cement-Building Materials, SCG Packaging, and SCG Chemicals. It employs approximately 24,000 employees, and markets more than 64,000 . The products are marketed domestically and exported to all regions of the world. Cementhai Holding Co., Ltd. oversees SCG's investment in various businesses. Most are joint ventures with internationally renowned companies, for examples, Kubota, Yamato Kogyo, Aisin Takaoka Group, Nippon Steel, Toyota Motor, Michelin, Hayes Lemmerz International, and others.
Most companies in the group have been accredited with ISO 9002 certification for quality management, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, and TIS 18001 certification for occupational health and safety management, often the first in their respective industries.
The Siam Cement is major sponsor of football, badminton, golf sporting events in Thailand and Southeast Asia. They also the current sponsor of Thai League club Muangthong United and Vietnamese V-League club Hà Nội F.C.
