Shawnee is a village in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 655 at the 2010 census.

Shawnee had its start in 1872 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village was named after the Shawnee Indians. A post office has been in operation at Shawnee since 1872.

Shawnee is located at 39°36′17″N 82°12′37″W / 39.60472°N 82.21028°W / 39.60472; -82.21028 (39.604861, -82.210185).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.26 square miles (5.85 km2), of which 2.25 square miles (5.83 km2) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 655 people, 235 households, and 179 families residing in the village. The population density was 291.1 inhabitants per square mile (112.4/km2). There were 275 housing units at an average density of 122.2 per square mile (47.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.0% White, 0.2% African American, and 1.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.3% of the population.

There were 235 households of which 38.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.1% were married couples living together, 16.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 23.8% were non-families. 20.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.08.
