Sharaqpur


Sharaqpur Sharif is a town of Sheikhupura District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located at 31°27′48″N 74°6′0″E / 31.46333°N 74.10000°E / 31.46333; 74.10000 and lies on the Jaranwala road, 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Lahore and 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the first exit of the M2.

Sharaqpur Sharif is known as the City of Saints, and is popular due to the presence of the shrine of Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri, who was born in the district in 1282 AH (1865 CE) and was a strict observer and preacher of the Quran and the Sunnah. He died in 1347 AH (1928) and was laid to rest in Sharaqpur.

Sharaqpur is located south-west of Lahore, across River Ravi. Just west of Sharaqpur, Nala Daik passes, and eventually meets the Ravi 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of Sharaqpur.

Sharaqpur is very popular due to shrine of Saint Mian Sher Muhammad known as Sher-E-Rabbani. Most popular sweet is named by Ghulab Jaman.Of Haji Hakim Ali, Another famous thing is the breakfast of mullah Habeeb in food street.

Khusah's (Shoe)

A special kind of shoes which is called Khusah are manufactured here and very popular all over the Punjab province. These Khusahs are made by hand, no machines are used for that. Nowadays, these are specially designed for bridegroom on wedding ceremonies. Leather and silver or golden thread are used for their manufacturing. Silver and golden thread make is very graceful and attractive. Khusah is a part of Punjabi culture.

Food Street

Sharaqpur has a beautiful and decorated food street which is the main bazar of old city, it starts from Nalkay Wala Chowk till Malkana Gate. It opens around the clock (24/7). You can find out all kind of foods here. T
