Shaidu (شيدو) is a town of about 75,000 people, in the Nowshera District of the North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan. It is located about 24 kilometers east of the city of Nowshera, between the Khattak mountains to the south and the River Kabul (لندي سيند) in the north. Some famous people of Shaidu are Mughal Baz. He was a government official whose son Shafqat Niaz was a man of great intellect and was a Civil Engineer. Another was Haji Farman Gul. Shaidu was affected by the 2010 flood. It has a great history and its name is derived from the fact that a great war took place in this area and a great number of mujahideens who embraced martyrdom(shahadat) are buried here.
