Serra da Malagueta, also known as Serra Malagueta, locally known as Serra is a village in the northwestcentral part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. It is situated on the main road of Praia-Assomada-Tarrafal Road (EN1-ST01) and is near the municipal boundary with Tarrafal to the north and is 3 km (1.9 mi) north of Fundura, about 10–15 km (6.2–9.3 mi) north of Assomada and about 60 km (37 mi) northwest of the capital Praia, also the municipal boundary with São Miguel is about 250 m (820 ft) to the east along with the settlement area of Principal. It is part of the municipality of Santa Catarina and the homonymous parish. Its 2010 population was 572. The village sits in on the homonymous mountain range that covers the north of the island, along with most of the mountain range, it forms a part of the Serra da Malagueta National Park founded in 2005 and also has a part west of Serra. It offers panoramic views of the Atlantic with the Bay of Tarrafal and Ribeira Principal to the northeast, west is the source of Ribeira de Cuba. The second tallest summit on the island is about a kilometer to the east.

Almost the whole area are mountainous. Agriculture as to that part of the island remains to be its main economy.

Along with the village, its name etymology is from a plant (Capsicum), a variety of pepper, the "Malagueta pepper"

In the mid-20th century, the settlement had a large Rabelados population.

In 1983, the route between Assomada and Tarrafal opened passing through the middle of Serra Malagueta and the settlement and bypassing Figueira das Naus and Ribeira da Prata and its dangerous curves by the Atlantic. Construction started somewhere at the end of the 1970s.
