Ribeira da Prata is a settlement in the northern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde belonging to the municipality of Tarrafal. Its 2010 population was 1,009 making it the municipality's fourth most populated place. It is situated on the west coast, 6 km south of Tarrafal. It is situaded on the northwest shore of the island and is located south of Chão Bom and is connected with a road connecting the Assomada-Tarrafal Road. The settlement is named after a nearby river that begins in Serra da Malagueta ranges, the stream is also known as Ribeira da Cuba.

Not the same as Ribeira Prata on the island of São Nicolau and in the municipality called Tarrafal de São Nicolau, one in the north of the municipality and the other in the north of the island but not in the same position, one of the reasons that Tarrafal de São Nicolau is called with the island name to avoid confusion with Tarrafal on the island and the settlement name of Ribeira Prata-Ribeira da Prata. The main reason that each of the two Tarrafals are the top 10 populated areas of each island.

The settlement and river was mentioned as "Rivera de Prata" (Modern Portuguese: Ribeira da Prata) in the 1747 French/Dutch map by Jacques Nicolas Bellin.

In 1983, the route between Assomada and Tarrafal (EN1-ST01) became bypassed and the settlement and passing through the middle of Serra Malagueta.
