Samantha May "Sam" Kerr (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian professional soccer player currently playing for Perth Glory FC in the Australian W-League and the Australia women's national soccer team.
Kerr was born in East Fremantle, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Her father, Roger Kerr, is Anglo-Indian (having been born in Calcutta to an English father and an Indian mother), while her mother is Australian. Both Kerr's father and older brother, Daniel Kerr, were professional Australian rules footballers. and Kerr herself also played the sport until switching to soccer at the age of 12.
Kerr's exciting brand of football saw her voted as the Players' Player at the 2009 W-League Awards as well as picking up the Goal of the Year for her long range effort against Sydney FC in round 8.
In 2013, Kerr signed with the Western New York Flash for the inaugural season of the National Women's Soccer League. After the 2014 season, the Flash traded Kerr to Sky Blue FC for Elizabeth Eddy and a first-round pick—fourth overall—in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. The Flash used that pick to draft Sam Mewis.
In August 2014, Kerr returned to Perth Glory. She signed a one-year contract extension ahead of the 2015–16 W-League season.
