Samuel Luke (born 26 December 1984) is an American musician. He was a bassist, vocalist, occasional guitarist, and drummer of the musical group Steam Powered Giraffe. He officially joined the group in 2012. In December of 2016, Samuel departed from the band to pursue his own artistic endeavors.

Sam Luke was born on December 26, 1984 in San Diego, as the brother of three sisters. He took a class in theatre in high school and decided to drop out of community college, becoming employed at a café in order to support his habit of music and art.

Steam Powered Giraffe officially formed in 2008, composed of David Michael Bennett and his twin sister Isabella "Bunny" Bennett, as well as Jonathan Sprague and Erin Burke. In 2012, after Jon and Erin had left the group, Sam joined, as they needed a drummer. Sam's fictional alias was that of "Hatchworth", an Art Deco robot created by an inventor named Peter A. Walter in 1896, and made from a cast-iron stove. Sam made his stage debut as Hatchworth on November 2, 2012, and served as a songwriter, vocalist, and bassist on the group's third studio album, MK III. Sam left Steam Powered Giraffe in December of 2016. Sam approached the band a while before leaving about wanting to focus on his own personal art projects, but he wanted to stay on as a member until a suitable replacement for him could be found.

Sam often illustrates, sketching, inking, and/or painting various works of art, which he posts on his Tumblr page. He often plays guitar and drums and is skilled in Adobe Photoshop.
