Saltchuk is a conglomeration of transportation and distribution companies headquartered in Seattle, WA, US. As of June 2016[update], Puget Sound Business Journal listed it as the largest private company in Washington state, with 2015 revenues of $2.9 billion, employment of 1,600 in Washington and an additional 5,900 employees elsewhere in the world.
On October 1, 2015, a ship, El Faro, that belonged to a Saltchuk subsidiary, sank during Hurricane Joaquin, losing all personnel.
