St. Albans is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,005 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 47.10 square miles (121.99 km2), of which, 44.79 square miles (116.01 km2) of it is land and 2.31 square miles (5.98 km2) is water.
As of the census of 2010, there were 2,005 people, 806 households, and 576 families residing in the town. The population density was 44.8 inhabitants per square mile (17.3/km2). There were 1,259 housing units at an average density of 28.1 per square mile (10.8/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.9% White, 0.1% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.3% Asian, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.4% of the population.
There were 806 households of which 29.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were married couples living together, 9.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 28.5% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.80.
The median age in the town was 43.9 years. 20.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 24.8% were from 25 to 44; 32.8% were from 45 to 64; and 15.5% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 50.9% male and 49.1% female.
