São Pedro is a village in the southwestern part of the island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde. It is situated on the coast, approximately 10 km southwest of the island capital Mindelo. Cesária Évora Airport is situated near the center of São Pedro and its terminal is located nearly 2 km north on the road to Mindelo (Rua do Morguinho). Its 2010 population was 991. Its estimate population as of 2016 has reached over 1,000.
It has a church named Saint Peter (São Pedro). It has a religious festival celebrated each year on June 29 and features traditional colá music.
In the area of São Pedro, it has a large beach with sea turtles in the bay of the same name, the parrage of arid and majestic and constant winds turns into an internationally used beach where windsurfing is popular, west of the village is Fateixa elevating 571 meters.
1 km west is the locality called Santo André featuring São Pedro Hotel, once the modern hotel until 2005 with small apartments named Foia Branca (Foia Branca) and also 2 km west is the lighthouse named Farol de Dona Amélia (or Foia Branca) accessed by a single one kilometer long pathway.
Also São Pedro has an elementary school, one of three located outside Mindelo.
The surroundings mountains of the southwest of the island are seen including a part of Monte Cara, with a valley that elevates up to about 150 meters, it does not have views of the city of Mindelo or the nearby island of Santo Antão. The only area that Santo Antão are seen are in the westernmost areas especially at Ponta Machado.
A honomymous football (soccer) club, the only in the village currently participates in the São Vicente Second Division, the club first played in 2008 and in the 2012-13 season played once in its Premier Divison.
