Russia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Russian entry was selected internally by the Russian broadcaster Russian Public Television (ORT). Mumiy Troll represented Russia with the song "Lady Alpine Blue", which placed 12th and scored 37 points at the contest.

In April 2001, ORT announced that it had selected the band Mumiy Troll to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. ORT claimed that over 2000 performers applied for the selection with a jury panel ultimately making the decision to send Mumiy Troll and the song "Lady Alpine Blue" to the contest.

Russia performed 6th at the 2001 Contest, following Israel and preceding Sweden. After the voting concluded, Russia scored 37 points and placed 12th.

The voting spokesperson for Russia was Larissa Verbitskaya.
