Rose Lavelle is an American soccer player who is signed with the Boston Breakers of the National Women's Soccer League. She has represented the United States on multiple youth national soccer teams including the under-18, under-20, and under-23 teams and was called up to the United States women's national soccer team in 2015. She played collegiate soccer for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2013–2016.
Lavelle was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 14, 1995, to parents Marty and Janet, and was raised with three siblings, John, Nora and Mary. She played competitive soccer in her hometown of Cincinnati, initially with Sycamore United Soccer Club and later with the Cincinnati United Premier Soccer Club. While attending Mount Notre Dame High School in Ohio, she played on the women’s varsity soccer team all four years. Today, she plays as a Badger at the University of Wisconsin and was added to the roster for the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.
A four-year varsity women’s soccer player at Mount Notre Dame High School, Lavelle was rewarded with being named Cincinnati’s Player of the Year by The Cincinnati Enquirer her senior year. That same year, Lavelle scored 15 goals and scored a total of 38 points for her team. At the end of her high school career, Rose lead her team in number of goals scored, totaling 57. This lead Lavelle to being rewarded NSCAA All-Region her junior and senior year of high school and first-team all-state honors. Having a decorated background at Mount Notre Dame High School, Rose Lavelle was rewarded the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Sports Women of the Year award in 2013.
