Rogue River is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. As of July 1, 2011, the population was 2,140.
The settlement was known as Woodville for many years, but was changed to Rogue River about 1912. Woodville post office operated from 1876 until 1912 when the name was changed to Rogue River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.97 square miles (2.51 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 2,131 people, 1,054 households, and 539 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,196.9 inhabitants per square mile (848.2/km2). There were 1,160 housing units at an average density of 1,195.9 per square mile (461.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 93.3% White, 0.8% African American, 1.2% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 2.1% from other races, and 2.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.3% of the population.
There were 1,054 households of which 21.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.6% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 48.9% were non-families. 43.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 27.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.02 and the average family size was 2.78.
The median age in the city was 49.3 years. 19.4% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 20.2% were from 25 to 44; 24.2% were from 45 to 64; and 29.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 46.3% male and 53.7% female.
