Rio Vista is a city in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 873 at the 2010 census. The local Rio Vista residents dispute the proper way to pronounce the name of the town. Either "RYE", "RYE-o Vista", or "REE-o Vista".

The racial makeup of the city was 87.27% White, 0.15% Native American, 2.74% from other races, and 1.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.18% of the population.
There were 236 households out of which 41.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.1% were married couples living together, 15.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.2% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
