Richland is a village in Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 791 at the 2010 census.
The village is within Richland Township, about nine miles northeast of Kalamazoo.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.01 square miles (2.62 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 751 people, 347 households, and 221 families residing in the village. The population density was 743.6 inhabitants per square mile (287.1/km2). There were 376 housing units at an average density of 372.3 per square mile (143.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 94.7% White, 0.4% African American, 1.2% Asian, 0.3% from other races, and 3.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.5% of the population.
There were 347 households of which 24.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.3% were non-families. 33.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.75.
The median age in the village was 46.8 years. 21.6% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 20.9% were from 25 to 44; 31.4% were from 45 to 64; and 22.1% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 43.9% male and 56.1% female.
