Rayburn Township is a township in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,907 at the 2010 census.
Rayburn Township is located in central Armstrong County and is bordered to the west by the Allegheny River and the borough of Kittanning, the county seat. Cowanshannock Creek flows through the township into the Allegheny River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 12.1 square miles (31.3 km2), of which 11.9 square miles (30.7 km2) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 km2), or 2.04%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,811 people, 694 households, and 526 families residing in the township. The population density was 152.4 people per square mile (58.8/km²). There were 737 housing units at an average density of 62.0/sq mi (23.9/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 99.06% White, 0.33% African American, 0.28% from other races, and 0.33% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.61% of the population.
There were 694 households, out of which 36.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.2% were non-families. 20.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.97.
