Ravenna is a village in Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,219 at the 2010 census. The village is located with Ravenna Township.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.21 square miles (3.13 km2), all land.
The district is located on the far southeastern corner of Muskegon County. It is a small rural district with two elementary schools, Beechnau (public), and St. Catherine's (private), one middle school, and one high school. It is also the district of record for the North East Education Center, which is located in Muskegon and serves emotionally impaired students from most of the schools in Muskegon County. The schools offer many extracurricular activities both in sports and academics.
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,219 people, 454 households, and 325 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,007.4 inhabitants per square mile (389.0/km2). There were 476 housing units at an average density of 393.4 per square mile (151.9/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 94.0% White, 0.2% African American, 0.7% Native American, 3.4% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.4% of the population.
There were 454 households of which 40.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.7% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 28.4% were non-families. 24.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.18.
