Raje is an honorary title of a King or Nobleman (i.e. "your majesty") in India. In India, south Indian states were ruled by the royal Indian dynasties whose rulers were addressed by the people as Raje.
In Maharashtra, Shivaji was addressed as King or Raje. Also, other clans of the Maratha community put Raje before their original clan name; RajeBhosale, RajeShirke, RajeMahadik, etc.
In states like Rajasthan, Rajput community chiefs are known by titles such as Maharawal, Rana, and Maharana, which are the equivalent as Raje or Maharaja.
