The Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF) is the successor of the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission. It was established 1 April 1975.
It is a binational organisation run by both the United States and Japan. The chairman is Toshiteru Okubo. The RERF Hiroshima Laboratory is situated in Hijiyama Park, Hiroshima. The organisation aims to study the long-term effects of radiation exposure on human health and its interactions with genes, lifestyle, and environment.
