R. K. Mathur is the current Central Information Commissioner of India (CIC) (2017). CIC is the head of Central Information Commission. Mathur belongs to the Tripura cadre of the Indian Administrative Service and retired as the Indian government's Defence Secretary two years after being appointed to the post on May 28, 2013. He was also the Chief Secretary to the Government of Tripura.
