Qurayyat (also Al Qurayyat or Gurayat, Arabic: القريات) is a city located in Al Jawf Province, in northern Saudi Arabia. It is 30 kilometres (19 mi) from border of Jordan. Qurayyat had a population of 147,550 at the 2010 Census. It is a small city with a very big market. Qurayyat is known for its olives and salt.
Al-Hadithah Port is the largest and the most important land ports in the Kingdom and the Middle East and is located west of the province Qurayyat (30) kilometers, and is the port of the largest ports in the Middle East he may of great significance, as it is a link to the neighboring countries in the Kingdom by land which is the country of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey, as well as coming for Hajj and Umrah from Turkey, Russia and Chechnya and other nationalities, as well as cargo for export and supply.
Climatic conditions in the province Qurayyat affected to some extent climate Mediterranean region, and is characterized by a climate region moderation summer though temperatures recorded a record high as 7 August 1987, but this is not a record for the other days of the summer as the use of air conditioning was not permanently as most days summer does not require the use of air conditioners, but that at night resort rights to lids with a starting breezes night saturated moisture sometimes with mild atmosphere of the region in summer but winter Qurayyat very cold and consists frost and temperatures drop to 12.8 below zero, as happened in the winter of 1972. There are two main hospitals in Gurayat: Gurayat General Hospital and King Faisal Hospital.
Gurayat General Hospital is 350-bed secondary referral center with a catchment area of almost 400 km area with referrals from seven district general hospitals, each comprising 50 beds, and many primary health centres. It has almost all branches of surgery, namely, general surgery with minimal access surgical facilities, neurosurgery, urology, paediatric surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, maxillo-facial, ophthalmology.
