Quitman is a city in Wood County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,809 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Wood County. It is most notable for being the birthplace of Academy Award-winning actress Sissy Spacek. Established in 1850, the city's slogan is "Come Grow With Us."
