Qinyang (simplified Chinese: ; traditional Chinese: ; pinyin: Qìnyáng) is a county-level city in Henan province, People's Republic of China. It is administered by the prefecture-level city Jiaozuo. The current population of Qinyang is estimated at 470,000. In 1999, the population stood at 444,480.
Qinyang was known as Yewang (野王) during the Qin Dynasty, changed to Henei (河内) during the Sui, Huaizhou during the Tang, Hwai-king Foo (懷庆府, Huáiqìngfǔ) under the Qing, and received the current name in 1913.
Qinyang which lies in the northwest of Henan Province occupies a total area of 623.5 square kilometers. It was beside the Yellow River in the late 19th century, but the river's floods have since moved it further south. Qinyang is now located along the Zhan (, Zhànhé), a tributary of the Yellow River. A part of the Taihang Mountains called the Shennong Mountain is in the rural area of Qinyang City.
