Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia or PFAM (Malay: Persatuan Pemain Bolasepak Professional Malaysia) is a representative organisation for professional football players in Malaysia, established in 2009. It is affiliated with the worldwide professional football players organization, FIFPro, since 22 October 2013. It was registered with the Malaysia Sports Commissioner's Office on 4 August 2014.
PFAM was inactive for a few years until it was reactivated in 2013, with Hairuddin Omar elected as president of the association.
PFAM is vocal about welfares of football players in Malaysia, whether still active of retired. PFAM also is responsible for the PFAM Player of the Month award, given to the best player in Malaysia football monthly.
PFAM strives in the excellence of overall welfare of the professional footballer community in welfare, development, representation and collective bargaining facilitation, advisory, and legal assistance for its Members.They also focuses on the communications between the relationships that naturally exist and will exist between members, FAM, clubs, state football associations, or any other body responsible for or in any way connected with the administration or regulation of football in Malaysia, including advice on sponsorship contracts.
Aside being the main body of assistance and advisory, PFAM also promotes the development of football in Malaysia, including the catalyst of pushing football football as a stable, secure, and worthwhile career for youngsters. PFAM, as promoters, will also undertake to projects both in Malaysia and internationally to advance the interests of its members.
