The Prime Minister of the State of Qatar (Arabic: رئیس الوزرا القطری is the second most powerful official of Qatar, who heads the Government of Qatar.
Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, the then-Emir of Qatar was formed this position on 29 May 1970 and himself served as prime minister until 27 June 1995 when he was deposed by his son Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Since 25 June 2013, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani is the current prime minister.
