Premios Gardel is an Argentine music industry awards, first held in 1999, and nominations are usually based on the previous calendar year. The awards are presented by CAPIF. The award is named after Carlos Gardel, one of the earliest well-known musicians in Argentina.
The most important prize is Gardel de Oro, which was since 2003, given to a person who wins the Album of the Year.
The awards are the Argentine equivalent of American Grammy Awards and British BRIT Awards.
