Pradeep Kumar Sinha (P.K. Sinha) (born July 18, 1955) is an Indian civil servant who is the 31st Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of India.
He is an Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer of the 1977 batch. Prior to this appointment he served as the Power Secretary of India since July 2013 and as Secretary in Ministry of Shipping before that. P.K. Sinha is an Economics graduate from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and holds a master's degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. He holds a MPhil degree as well.
The Union Government constituted a selection committee headed by cabinet secretary P.K. Sinha for the shortlisting of candidates for RBI governorship following the end of Raghuram Rajan’s term in September 2016.Dr Urjit Patel was appointed as Governor of RBI, with effect from 04 September 2016.
