Podara is a census town in Sankrail CD Block under Sankrail police station in Sadar subdivision of Howrah district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
As per 2011 Census of India Podara had a total population of 21,589 of which 11,220 (52%) were males and 10,369 (48%) were females. Population below 6 years was 2,143. The total number of literates in Podara was 17,800 (91.54 % of the population over 6 years).
