Playa Negra is a beach in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. It is south of the town of Tamarindo. Los Pargos, meaning "the snapper" is the name of the town where Playa Negra is located. It is south of Avellanas and north of Junquillal. It is accessed from Santa Cruz through 27 de Abril and then Paraiso.
Playa Negra offers several restaurants, from the now famous Peruvian food at Cafe Playa Negra, French cuisine at Villa DeVeena, Mexican food ... Jalapeño Taco Grill, a pizza parlour known as La Vida Buena, organic food from Cafe La Ventana, a sports bar called Gina's Place, and a beachfront restaurant at the Hotel Playa Negra among others. There are a couple art galleries, Johnny Manana's Surf Art Gallery & Studio next door to Cafe La Ventana and Lula's next to Cafe Playa Negra. There are also a few private homes in the commercial center of the town as well as the many homes dotted on the beaches and in residential communities. There is a mini market right across from the street from the Cafe Playa Negra .,, one at the soccer field, and one at the entrance of the town. There is also a private skate park and an attorney's office. There are several small shops, shops for surfing-related souvenirs, surf camp, real estate offices, surf rentals, ding repair shop, yoga centers, acupuncture and wellness center, two mechanics, a Pentecostal church, and various cabinas and hotels.
