Plano Nacional de Banda Larga (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈplanu nasioˈnaw dʒi ˈbɐ̃dɐ ˈlaʁɡɐ], National Broadband Plan) or PNBL is an initiative from the Brazilian government to provide broadband Internet access throughout the country to individuals, governmental institutions, businesses and civil societies that do not have access to this service yet.
The government aims to reduce both social and economical inequalities besides of generating more jobs and get a competitive advantage in the international business by setting up the necessary infrastructure that allows data communication in non-metropolitan areas of the country.
