As of the census of 2000, there were 532 people, 185 households, and 120 families residing in the town. The population density was 271.6 people per square mile (104.8/km²). There were 218 housing units at an average density of 111.3 per square mile (42.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 35.71% White, 62.78% African American, 0.19% Asian, 0.75% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.75% of the population.
