Pinehurst is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,266 at the 2000 census.

Pinehurst is located at 30°10′43″N 95°41′47″W / 30.17861°N 95.69639°W / 30.17861; -95.69639 (30.178614, -95.696303).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 9.0 square miles (23.4 km²), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4,266 people, 1,464 households, and 1,137 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 472.5 people per square mile (182.4/km²). There were 1,585 housing units at an average density of 175.6/sq mi (67.8/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.86% White, 0.87% African American, 0.61% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 3.23% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.29% of the population.

There were 1,464 households out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.5% were married couples living together, 8.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.3% were non-families. 17.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.30.
