Pillager is a city in Cass County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 469 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Brainerd Micropolitan Statistical Area.
A post office called Pillager has been in operation since 1886. The city was named after the Pillager Band of Chippewa Indians.
Pillager is located in Sylvan Township (T133N R30W), on the left (North) bank of the Crow Wing River, just East of Lake Placid. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.88 square miles (2.28 km2), of which, 0.85 square miles (2.20 km2) is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2) is water.
Minnesota State Highway 210 and County Road 1 are the main routes in the community.
As of the census of 2010, there were 469 people, 190 households, and 124 families residing in the city. The population density was 551.8 inhabitants per square mile (213.1/km2). There were 218 housing units at an average density of 256.5 per square mile (99.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 96.8% White, 0.2% African American, 1.3% Native American, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 0.4% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
