Penrose is an unincorporated town and a census-designated place (CDP) in Fremont County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,582 as of the 2010 census. The Penrose Post Office has the ZIP code 81240.
Thc community was named after Spencer Penrose.
Penrose is located in eastern Fremont County at 38°25′36″N 105°0′27″W / 38.42667°N 105.00750°W (38.426756, -105.007568).

Penrose gets its water from Brush Hollow Reservoir, located to the west in Brush Hollow State Wildlife Area.
