Paul Kent is an Australian journalist and former rugby league player.

In 1989 he played in one first grade match for the Parramatta Eels at halfback, becoming the 481st player for the club.

He, and a few other players, were qualified for several grades; him being the one moved up into the first grade side to take on the North Sydney Bears. They won that game 30 - 6. Speaking about his only first grade match, he revealed he went into the game with a torn hamstring. He called himself "disgraceful and sub-par" as a rugby league player. "There's been about 9000 - 9500 people that have been NRL football since 1908, it's safe to say I'm in the bottom-half dozen on that list."

Since retiring he has become a journalist and now works for The Daily Telegraph and is the co-host on NRL 360. He has written two books; Sonny Ball and Johnny Lewis: The Biography — about Sonny Bill Williams and Johnny Lewis, respectively.Sonny Ball was chosen as one of the best sports books of 2015 by Australian newspaper The New Daily. Kent is a weekly panel member for Triple M's Sunday NRL Show.
