Pannaikadu is a panchayat town in Dindigul district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Pannaikadu Panchayat included some village like aladipatti,oralapatti,oothu,vazhagiri,machoor,moolayaar,vadakaraiparai,mayilladumparai,echo point. also Kodaikanal institute of technology in placed in pannaikadu(machoor).
Can be considered as a heavenly modest valley village in Tamilnadu, As of 2001[update] India census, Pannaikadu had a population of 9396. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Pannaikadu has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 67%. In Pannaikadu, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age. The main occupation here is agriculture of crops like coffee and bananas.
During British regime the last governor Sir Archibald Nye praised Pannaikadu as a modern village in the Madras state.
Pannaikadu is the place of god Rama and the view of Panniakadu from Murugan Temple is extraordinary. Kaaliamman temple is situated near a stream is believed to be very powerful goddess with picnic attraction too.
People from Pannaikadu have migrated to places all around the world either for studies or for living.
Banana, coffee, orange, jack and avacodo are mainly cultivated. Pannaikadu is a valley forms rare site in South India. The view from Murugan temple is so catchy but it is a pity very few tourists are attracted to this place. If one travel two km towards north, Thandikudi, which is a nearby village on the way can witness a place with minimum sunlight due to thick forest.
