Panian is one of the 44 union councils, administrative subdivisions, of Haripur District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.The Majority Of The Population Living In Panian Are Panni Pathans. They Are Hindko Speaking Pathans. They Are Descended From Ghorghushti. Panian is Named After The Great Pashtun "Panni Khan". The Legendary "Panni Khan" Migrated here From Pashtun Region Of Balouchistan in The 10th Century. They Came Here Along With Mehmud Ghaznavi During His Invasion Of Sub-continent. When Panni Came Here, This Region Was Occupied By Sikhs And Hindus But Panni's Defeated Them And Settled In This Region . Panni Khan Had 5 Sons. By The Name Of Whom different Sub-Tribes Of Panni's Exists.They Are Named As Following;
