Palmyra is a village in Otoe County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census.

Palmyra was platted in 1870. Its name commemorates the ancient city of Palmyra.

Palmyra is located at 40°42′17″N 96°23′29″W / 40.70472°N 96.39139°W / 40.70472; -96.39139 (40.704826, -96.391367).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.34 square miles (0.88 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 545 people, 207 households, and 146 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,602.9 inhabitants per square mile (618.9/km2). There were 227 housing units at an average density of 667.6 per square mile (257.8/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 96.0% White, 1.7% African American, 0.6% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.

There were 207 households of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.0% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.5% were non-families. 24.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.15.
