Palm Beach Shores is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,269 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau was 1,511.
The town occupies the southern tip of Singer Island. It borders the City of Riviera Beach on the north, the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Lake Worth Lagoon on the west. On the south, the Palm Beach Inlet separates it from the town of Palm Beach. The state of Florida's easternmost point is located in Palm Beach Shores. The Town of Palm Beach Shores includes many charming mid-century homes, many of which have been restored or are being restored, giving the town the charming character of "a slice of old Florida".
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2). 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (34.21%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,269 people, 697 households, and 322 families residing in the town. The population density was 5,010.5 inhabitants per square mile (1,959.9/km²). There were 1,171 housing units at an average density of 4,623.6 per square mile (1,808.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 89.13% White (of which 88% were Non-Hispanic Whites,) 9.06% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.13% of the population.
