Palletoori Bava (English: Village Brother-in-law) is a 1973 Telugu, drama film, produced by A. V. Subba Rao on Prasad Art Productions banner and directed by K. Pratyagatma. Starring Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, Lakshmi in the lead roles and music composed by T. Chalapathi Rao. The film was a remake of Tamil film Pattikada Pattanama (1972). The film was remade in Kannada as Putnanja (1995) and in Hindi as Banarasi Babu (1997).
Eedukondalu (Akkineni Nageshwara Rao) is a Zamindar of a village Seeta Nagaram. He gets married to his maternal uncle Bheema Rao's (Nagabhushanam) daughter foreign returned Lalitha (Lakshmi). He is faithful and she is a daredevil, happy-go-lucky type. One day it was her birthday party and she starts drinking and dancing. Eedukondalu feels ashamed about his wife being like that. He gets angry and slaps her, he noticed that he did the wrong thing but she ran away to her mother Deepa Lakshmi (Sukumari). He decides to get her back but after teaching her lesson and also succeeds in making her pregnant, preventing the doctor from aborting the child. She delivers a baby boy. He now walks away with the 15-days-old kid and comes back to his village and threatens to marry again. The stage is set for his remarriage. She appears on the scene. She wants the child back. Confrontation, She says she cannot live without the child. He says if she cannot live without her & child then why did she want to separate his mother from her child. Then she realizes her mistake.
