Palisade is a village in Hayes and Hitchcock Counties in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The population was 351 at the 2010 census.

Palisade was established at its current site in 1882, when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named from the terrain around the town, which was though to resemble a palisade.

Palisade is located at 40°20′54″N 101°6′26″W / 40.34833°N 101.10722°W / 40.34833; -101.10722 (40.348408, -101.107126). Most of the village is located in Hitchcock County; only a small portion extends into Hayes County.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.36 square miles (0.93 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 351 people, 162 households, and 97 families residing in the village. The population density was 975.0 inhabitants per square mile (376.4/km2). There were 195 housing units at an average density of 541.7 per square mile (209.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.9% White and 1.1% Native American.

There were 162 households of which 22.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.6% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.2% had a male householder with no wife present, and 40.1% were non-families. 37.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.87.
