Ovid Township is a civil township of Clinton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township had a population of 3,795.
Ovid Township is located in eastern Clinton County, bordered by Shiawassee County to the east. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.0 square miles (93.2 km2), of which 35.8 square miles (92.8 km2) is land and 0.15 square miles (0.4 km2), or 0.44%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,490 people, 1,225 households, and 927 families residing in the township. The population density was 97.4 per square mile (37.6/km²). There were 1,279 housing units at an average density of 35.7 per square mile (13.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.05% White, 0.17% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.26% Pacific Islander, 0.83% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.15% of the population.
There were 1,225 households out of which 37.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% were married couples living together, 10.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.3% were non-families. 19.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.19.
