Oru Mexican Aparatha (English: A Mexican enormity) is a 2017 Indian Malayalam film directed by Tom Emmatty. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Roopesh Peethambaran, Neeraj Madhav. It was released on 3 March 2017 in India. This movie narrates how the students established the political party SFY.

The story opens with the description of how students' union was established across colleges in Kerala, with various political parties taking power, mainly the SFY (originally SFI) and KSQ (originally KSU). It then shows an SFY activist, who later comes to be known as Paul (Tovino Thomas), is beaten brutally. The story of the SFY is explained afterwards, with Sakhavu Kochaniyan (also Tovino Thomas) leading a successful protest and establishing the SFY across Kerala. It then shows him being killed in a secret hideout in Maharaja's College, Ernakulam by the police after a fellow comrade betrayed him. The movie then describes Paul's college life.

Set in mid 2000s in the same college, which is now under the leadership of the KSQ and activist Roopesh (Roopesh Peethambaran), Shiyaz (Kalabhavan Shajon) and their fellow activists. Paul is a student from Thrissur who has come to the college to study. He is a typical student and becomes friends with Subhash (Neeraj Madhav), Joby (Vishnu Govindan) and Krishnan (Manu), and soon starts to fall in love Anu (Gayathri Suresh). Subhash has long hated the KSQ's leadership and their abuse of power in the college, and plans to re-introduce the SFY party in the college before the next election. Subhash is shown as a clever, left-wing ideologist, and brings his friends, including Paul, into the party.
