Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse is an American footwear retailer founded in 1989 in Nashville, TN. The shoe brand has over 75 locations coast to coast. It employs over 6,500 associates in more than 40 states. A typical Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse location offers over 30,000 pairs of shoes and more than 400 brands in each store. Known for discounts prices, the stores carry popular footwear from brands like Nike, Sketchers and Steve Madden.
The company began as a three-day-a-week warehouse operation in downtown Nashville, making it one of the first “warehouse concept” stores in the country. Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse grew to 20 locations along the East Coast before being acquired by The Deichmann Group in 2002, a German-Based privately held-footwear retailer. Since being acquired by The Deichmann Group Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse has grown to more than 75 locations from coast to coast.
In 2013 the company moved from its Atlanta headquarters to a new one in Charlotte, NC which they share with Rack Room Shoes another subsidiary company of The Deichmann Group. Rack Room Shoes doubled the size of its existing building to 144,000 square feet to create a permanent space for the Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse team. The cost of construction was $20 million dollars. The two brands combined payroll, human resources, information technology, logistics and the construction group.
