Oak Valley is located at 32°1′51″N 96°31′15″W / 32.03083°N 96.52083°W / 32.03083; -96.52083 (32.030773, -96.520899).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 401 people, 143 households, and 112 families residing in the town. The population density was 203.6 people per square mile (78.6/km²). There were 153 housing units at an average density of 77.7 per square mile (30.0/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.77% White, 1.75% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 2.49% from other races, and 3.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.49% of the population.

There were 143 households out of which 39.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.0% were married couples living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.0% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.19.
